2012 U.S. Championships
Congratulations to the 2012 U.S. Champion GM Hikaru Nakamura and the 2012 U.S. Women's Champion IM Irina Krush! The 2012 U.S. Championship featured a record-breaking prize fund and the strongest field in the history of the event, and the 2012 U.S. Women's Championship thrilled fans with yet another down-to-the-wire playoff between perennial favorites Irina Krush and Anna Zatonskih. The two championships were viewed live each day by tens of thousands of chess fans from all across the world through our Livestream channel, and coverage of these prestigious events reached an audience of more than 60 million people! This marked the fourth consecutive year the U.S. Championship and U.S. Women's Championship were held at the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis, and event organizers have reached an agreement in principle to bring these fantastic U.S. Championship events back to Saint Louis for a fifth consecutive year. Congrats to all who participated, and thanks for making these the most exciting and memorable U.S. Championships to date.
