The 7th edition of the GM Norm Invitational returns to Saint Louis with the 2015 CCSCSL GM Norm Closed. Ten players, 3 Grandmasters and 7 International Masters, will compete for prizes in this six day event while only the seven IM's will compete to earn a Grandmaster norm. The IM's need to achieve a result of 6/9 and a tournament performance rating of 2600.
It is the mission of the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis to support and promote professional chess. The GM norm events give up-and-coming players the opportunity to earn a GM norm. A GM norm is a high level of performance in a tournament. Players need three GM norms and a rating of 2500 FIDE to earn the Grandmaster title.
