2015 GM Norm Invitational
The 7th edition of the GM Norm Invitational returns to Saint Louis with the 2015 CCSCSL GM Norm Closed. All ten players, 3 Grandmasters and 7 International Masters, will compete for prizes in this six day event. Only the seven IM's will compete to earn a Grandmaster norm. The IM's need to achieve a result of 6/9 and a tournament-performance rating of 2600.
It is the mission of the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis to support and promote professional chess. The GM Norm events give up-and-coming players the opportunity to earn a GM norm. A GM norm is a high level of performance in a tournament. Players need three GM norms and a rating of 2500 FIDE to earn the Grandmaster title.
